Wendy is available as a solo artist, as a duo , trio or with Blind Summat!
Wendy solo: A rich mix of traditional & self penned songs (both accompanied on a multitude of instruments and unaccompanied). “An easy relaxed style with a beautiful sweet yet powerful voice” guaranteed to involve and entertain an audience. She is as comfortable playing to hundreds on a big stage as the intimacy of a folk club. “it seems to me that in her live performance and on her studio recordings Wendy makes her audience feel as though they are that special person in the corner, well that is how she makes me feel” . She is sometimes accompanied by her husband (banjo & vocals) and daughter (vocals) when circumstances allow (usually school holidays!).
Arrowsmith-Bushby: Wendy’s newest collaboration with John & Caroline Bushby who hail from Tasmania and were leading lights of the folk scene there prior to the emigration to the Northeast of England. John plays various small pipes, whistles, bouzouki, mandolin & guitar and Caroline adds Celtic harp. Both John & Caroline also sing. The blend of instruments and shared musical interests means a distinctive “Scottishness” is added to the sound and they perform a mixture of Traditional Scottish songs along with those from Wendy’s and other contemporary songwriters’ pens.
Blind Summat!: Have forged a strong partnership and have an eclectic but distinctive sound mixing traditional English, Scottish & American songs and tunes with self penned offerings and a smattering of well chosen contemporary songs from other sources.
“a fantastic mind blowing finale from BLIND SUMMAT. I make no apologies for enthusing about them, they are fantastic, and they are all skilled individual performers, but when brought together they are awesome and powerful”
